An Ode to Beautiful Friendships
Something that I have really grown to cherish this quarantine has been my friendships... both new and old.
I took a breather this past weekend and a few people reached out to check to see if I was ok, which was really sweet and had me thinking about a lot of things.
Even when we allow ourselves to get busy with our own routines and caught up with our own problems — we are loved by those around us.
I’ve shared so many conversations and moments with people in the past 6 weeks of being stuck at home. Some vulnerable moments, many life questions, a lot of laughter, and a few tears — but nonetheless, all beautiful and cherished alike.
So this is an ode to beautiful friendships, in their complexity and depth… in their richness and fullness… and most importantly, in their love.
An ode to beautiful friendships
This is for the friendships that challenge us. That brings smiles to our faces and remind us of who we are.
For the friendships that encourage us past our fears and push us towards our goals. And that don’t allow us to think of ourselves as anything less.
This is for the friendships that needle into the early hours of the morning, with conversations flowing about drama, and dreams, and everything in between.
For the friendships that exist in the moments where your heart is beating fast in your chest or when it’s shattered on the floor.
This is for the friendships that are full of laughter and cheap wine and deep conversations.
That talk about things that are only etched inside the back of our journals, and take a moment to challenge us to let them go.
This is for the friendships that are real, and authentic, and true. That share both jovial moments and serious ones alike and cherish them all.
This is for the friendships that make us face the better versions of ourselves that we sometimes try to avoid.
That exuberate and radiate Christ’s perfect love, and don’t leave any room for judgment and fear.
This for the friendships that are and that was and that are to come.
This is for beautiful friendships.
Love always,
The Corporate Queendom
