A Monday Chronicle
Welcome to The Monday Chronicles, a dramatic recap of my Mondays in the corporate world. No Monday is like another, and thus shall be treated with the utmost disrespect that each Monday deserves.
THE MONDAY BLUES
Woke up like Ke$ha
I went to NOLA this past weekend and I'm pretty sure my body was using Monday morning to desperately try to recover from an eventful night on the-street-that-shall-not-be-named (but rhymes with Shourbon).
So I wasn't too surprised when I woke up Monday morning and immediately wanted to go back to bed for the next 12 years of my life.
That feeling caused me to spend 30 minutes pressing the snooze button wishing it was Sunday all over again and 5 minutes wondering why I existed which made me a whopping 35 minutes late to my normal morning schedule.
Became vision-impaired
On my way to work my glasses randomly broke and fell off my face and into my lap. There was literally nothing I could do but bask in the moment. So I did.
Forced to drink poison
When I got to work I realized I had left my breakfast at home and sustained myself by drinking a watery home-made kale and mango smoothie.
It was watery because I was late and didn't have time to get my fruit to liquid proportion right.
I was late because I'm Ke$ha.
THE MONDAY YELLOWS
Got me some Jesus
Something that really did brighten up my Monday was the Bible Study I had before getting ready for work.
I'm currently studying Corinthians and my devotion dug deep into the resurrection of Jesus and why it matters so much to our faith.
It was just so cool to hear it in a different way and apply it to my life
I'm a brand ambassador for Chipotle
As a pick-me-up from my disappointing (watery kale) breakfast, I decided to treat myself to some burrito-bowl goodness sponsored by Chipotle (not really but I wish).
It was my first time eating lunch in a restaurant by myself in a while, but it was relaxing and well-needed. I had time to collect my thoughts and really just enjoy myself.
Chose the booty over Louis
I (somehow) convinced myself to go to the gym instead of the mall and got a seat in the Cycling class (that usually fills up 15 min before it starts) even though I came late.
And guess what?
I actually wasn't that tired through out the class. Normally, I'm huffing and puffing and sweating bullets.
This time I was huffing and puffing but with class.
Bargains are my middle name
After my workout I went to the Dollar Store and stumbled upon the cutest set of frames that would work perfect for home decor.
They had geometric water color fruits in them that were just meant to be fillers but were actually adorable.
I haven't been buying decor pieces recently because I want to make sure I get my actual furniture for my new apartment first, but I literally could imagine these babies hanging beautifully on my future kitchen wall.
And they were only $1 EACH?! How could I resist? A must-buy.
My BFF, Mom
I then ended the night with a great conversation with my mom, just catching up with her and filling her in on my life. It's so rewarding because I feel like our relationship is growing which makes me happy.
